Born in 1912, Brooklyn, New York, Lewis sold rights of his first non-fiction book, A Quiz on the Varieties of Manias for 1$ to Leisure magazine in 1939. 30 Days to a More Powerful Vocabulary is one of the best-selling books of the author, which was published in year 1971 by Pocket Books. Lewis loved to write and teach and hence authored many other books, such as Word Power Made Easy, 30 Days to a More Powerful Vocabulary and 30 Days to Better English, which are still in print.
